My First RC Tank

Post by Cappy »

Well this is my first venture into the world of RC Tanks and what better place to purchase from than RC Toy World.
I have gone for the M26 Pershing by Taigen, I must say I'm very impressed. So here are some pics (the Tiger 1 in some of the pics belongs to my mate Andy who also got his from RC Toy World).

Is it common for the smoke unit to stop working? Mine seems to have packed up in just a week.

Have you added a few drops of smoke oil ?

If so have you, perhaps, overfilled it ?

Nothing to do with drops, it ain't working period. Nowt happening, zilch, no power to it by the looks of it and yes I have checked the switch is on. It worked for a while but not even the pump is running. I've had a shufti at the connections to see if anything has become disconnected but looks solid to me. Looks like it's gone to the great smoke unit in the sky. :(

Stock smoke units are seriously hit or miss, but they're only ten bucks so it could be worse. I also have a Pershing, an Imex/Taigen that's still pretty much completely stock, and it's a really great tank. It's so easy to drive, whenever someone comes over that's never driven an RC tank before, I hand them the TX for the M-26. I call it my "Trainer Tank". I absolutely love it and I will eventually get around to detailing it. The accessory kit is also a very good one, with lots of ammo cans and some decent crates.

Almost every time I place an order at Imex I pick up an extra smoker or two and an extra airsoft unit. I've come to accept that these things are just going to need replacing sometimes. Kinda the same way i have to do the brakes on the car from time to time if I still want to be able to stop. :lolno:

I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do with yours, Cappy.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Thanks, the dealer I bought it from is going to take a look at it so I'm hopeful he'll be able to get me a replacement.
