Wine

Post by titan.26 »

Tonight I would like to discuss loss.a type of loss that future dreams were built on,warning this gets real really fast,I have spent I would say 10 years learning the art of airbrushing,my skills are minimal at best I struggle between the lines and have a hard time maintaining, there is one reason I do not give up it is the little one that must be nurtured to an appropriate skill level, so it's 3 am your trying your godamnest to breath life into a our love and it's all in vain, well just have faith and keep moving right along right? The meds. So your left with something that is entirely different from what your perception of goals should be,never fear wine is here after one or you'll snooze until the a.m. And start fumbling all over again, the one thing that remains in my mind is that I have limitations and I must relieve when I have reached those limits to know as when I have accomplished the best of my work and it's time to move on to other promises, well I'm still here drinking a glass and hopefully the next line will be cleaner,God bless those that have this through my cursed eyes and good night.

This is the problem with airbrushing.

People invest time and cash and expect too much. It's just a tool that spits paint. 90% of good results are in the paint mixing, masking and cleaning.

If you are expecting to freehand the hairline squiggle of a Luftwaffe camo in 1/48, you're going to need a spend $600 on a brush that can't do much else. Even then your paint mix has to be perfect and humidity held in absolute check.

When you see all the brochures of the beautifully thin lines the brush paints, they're usually spraying impossibly thin ink on paper, not opaque RLM colors on 3D plastic surfaces.

You need to mask. Silly putty is your friend. Think of an airbrush as a rattle can you reuse and go from there.

Pour me a glass while yer at it too.
What, me worry?

You are absolutely correct ,no wine tonight lol, over time and much research my skills have improved marginally ,I do find that preparation is 90 percent of the work although after switching to ultra fine needle set I have results that are pleasingly enough to my tastes, you can't drive nails without a hammer and honestly all the guys here do really great work and all of are an inspiration to me to be better than I was yesterday. I hope to keep learning from all of you in more ways than one.god bless your patience and foresight you all have taken a lot of bumps for us.sincerely ,Daniel.

Good afternoon,
The hairy stick is always an option as well. Definitely takes more time than the airbrush but both tools have their place.

If you only want to apply Primer over a large area such as a Hull or a Body then a Rattle can is a better choice than an airbrush, It means less faffing about and no cleaning up afterwards.
I use "Simoniz 500ml £6 from auto stores, truly a no brainer.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
