Re: CSI Apple
You might be able to make your own Matt. Certainly the IR receiver sensors Elmod uses (TSOP 1738) are inexpensive and readily available from places like Rapid electronics.
The problem is connecting the sensors to the CSI. Elmod uses 10 pins to fit the CSI mushroom to their combat system PCB. (Tamiya uses 5 to do the same job on their TBU). I think it would be quite hard to figure out what pins go where if you were making your own.
But someone here might have a better handle on this...
Cheers

Re: CSI Apple
Remember EL MOD has the battle mode where your IR apple can sense a hit and maybe the turret will only go out or just the left track only will go out etc,,, So it is much more sofisticated then the other units on the Market!

Re: CSI Apple
Hi,
could you modify a Tamiya Battle Unit to work with the CSI?
if yes, instead of buying the expensive Tamiya, you could get the IMPACT battle unit, which is 100% identical to the Tamiya Battle unit (TBU) and modify that to work.
They are going for 70usd on ebay
