I've managed by just twisting them back and forth but the do snap sometimes.

Hi, If you are replacing a Heng Long smoker with a TARR Smoker the Tarr Smokers come with all the pipes you will need so you can just discard the whole smoker complete with attached (Impossible to remove)pipes.

You could try JT's MEA STEAM to improve drastically the smoke you get out of the HL smoke unit, worked wonders in mine. It's a US made product so I don't know if its available where you are or if they ship out of the US. You can check them out at www.megasteam.com
