IBU3 questions

Glad the other supplied driver worked.

Sorry about the left motor power set at 50% all I can think is because I use a beta version of the software when I set yours up it changed it to 50%. Anyway you sorted it programming error not a fault.

Reflashing the firmware doesn’t effect the sounds or settings on the IBU3, sometimes with new features added a factory reset is best to make sure no incompatibility issues between old settings and new features/settings. We will advise when this is the case.

Regarding the no main gun sound, this is because in airsoft mode the IBU3 is waiting for the signal from the microswitch on the back of the airsoft to trigger the sound and track recoil if activated. On the current hardware version of the IBU3 you need to plug it in as per this picture



The next production batch of IBU3 will have an updated PCB so it plugs into the xenon flash sock just like the Heng Long & Taigen systems. Again we will advice users when the revised PCB is sold.

In airsoft mode you have to hold the left stick up until the airsoft fires, it’s when the microswitch makes contact the IBU3 makes the sound. It’s not like before where you just push up and let go and the IBU3 does it all.

If that is what your doing next step is connect IBU3 to computer, go to the sound setup page and select the main gun button, press the bottom left button (play) and the tank speaker should play the sound loaded onto the IBU3. Make sure radio and volume on the radio is set so you can hear it. If the IBU3 doesn’t play any sound then no sound file loaded, if that’s the case I’m sorry must be another issue between beta software I’m running.

Nope no main gun sound when its in airsoft mode at all, BUT it will fire full auto now!

What is going on here?

I set the recoil timing to 1600 and now the main gun sound is back. It's slightly off but it doesn't work at all set to airsoft mode.

Check the gap in the micro switch on the back of the airsoft. I was working on one last night and found the contact was staying closed so was going into shooting all the time and the airsoft wouldn’t refire. I simply bent them away from each other and all worked as planned.

No idea what that micro switch is my friend, where do I look to find it?

The steering is still a little odd using the IBU3 vs. IBU2. It's almost like there's a little bit of momentum that's always on isn't there?

Yeah part of the IBU3 design was to be more realistic to a tank with the driving unlike the racing car style often seen. So incorporates a smooth start stop method which is on all the time but like you say like a little momentum, you will have to relearn to drive with the IBU3 but it will quickly come natural.

Here’s a picture I found on the web (hope the user doesn’t mind me sharing)



The micro switch is the little bit at the back where the red and black wires go to. It’s is just 2 strips of metal when the airsoft fires and mechanism fires back to fire the BB it pushes the 2 strips together forming a circuit. On the airsoft I was working on last night I found the airsoft sprung back and closed the contacts, but because the contacts where closed the IBU3 wouldn’t power the airsoft motor to wind up the spring and move away from the switch but just went into repeat firing sound. I gently praised the contacts apart and it fixed it.
