Hi All,
Thanks for all the info . Now another question when I download this tank firmware do I use the Micro SD card that's in the transmitter? Or can I use a new one?. I had a spare 32G. Brian...

I used the microSD card which came with radio (think is 2gb) and firmware file only small in comparison. Apart from a few different firmware and model backups there isn’t much stored on my microSD card. There is a folder with voice alerts etc but again that not massive. So I wouldn’t worry about running out of space.

Did you get the Frsky module? That's what I have in my 9XR and it gives me model matching.

Also, did you say you're waiting for a self centering gimbal, or just the lever and spring? I've recently been messin' about with the flysky radios, getting self center on both sticks with the i10 and the i6, as well as the Turnigy copies. For the 6S I had to make my own lever, but it was a lot easier than I thought. I think I even did a video ...

Hi Max,
Yep I'm waiting for the Turnigy DSSS module you can't get them this side of the pond?. And the gimbal again not available from Hobbyking over here so ordered it from the US £3.19+post. They don't do the lever on it own. I have a flysky i6 the lever for that one is a lot smaller. The only one I've done so far is the 9X so now I've got to sort out the firmware for that one. I will download the tank firmware for my 9XR PRO this weekend and get that on there. Brian...

Oh I forgot the gimbal you need is the mode 1 left hand. They come all assembled so all you do is remove the old one and plug in the new one  . Brian...

For that price I imagine it's better just to get the whole gimbal, but Kevin Grannum at RC tanks australia makes a self center lever for the 9X series, but you have to get your own spring. No biggie, I just take them from old Heng Long transmitters.

I'll have to take a look at the DSSS module to see if I'm missing anything. Does it give you model matching capabilities? Ever since I hooked up two Tigers on Asp boards with model matching I've been having a blast running two tanks at once.

The 9x and the 9xr pro have different gimbal construction don't think inter changeable.

No the dsss doesn't have model matching, but Brian already had receivers.

Hi Max,
Yep it was Keven that told me they don't do the 9XR PRO centering lever and you have to change the whole gimbal. Brian...
