I haven't used my 9x pro yet Brian,I've changed the firmware to tanker 9x which was simple as.
The menus don't look any harder to learn than the spectrum stuff I'm used to,I'm using mine with a fusion pro to start with and there's a set up template for it in the firmware.
Setting the ibu will be easy so you will have no issues there.

I will be useing an IBU2 PRO. Any info and set up tips would be really helpful as never been down this road before. Brian...
I've a couple of 9x which I belive are fairly similar I find them fine to program. Took a couple of days to get my head round it but after that it's been ok.
The stock turnigy 9x software its completelly different to the 9xr pro. The stock 9x software is pure shit and the 9xr pro is awesome.

Of course you can change the 9x software to a er9x but as I said many times around here you need an extra board or superfine soldering work in the radio.
I've had no issues with it

Hi ST,
Yep will probably get one BUT (there's away a but). I would like the Tank version firmware!! But as far as I know there is not a download for MAC!!!!!. I don't have a windows computer any more I now have the iPad Pro. So shot down in flames there :'( . So I'm at a loss as whether to go ahead a buy the 9XR Pro. It seams I hit a brick wall every time :( and it's beginning to hurt. Brian...

It's more expensive than going the diy route but is what you wanted (I think!)
