Reaming out the barrel has come to a halt for today. After drilling a pilot hole and then seaming out to 3mm and 38mm deep with a pin vice, my fingers are very sore.

Could have sworn that I did the swap while I was trying to figure out why it had suddenly stopped working, but all that the Pershing IR problem was, was the flash/IR plugs in the wrong damned sockets.

Can't get my remote to work, interweb tells me that lack of use drains an on board capacitor or something, so it loses its memory. I have a Sony TV so the remote from that works ok for what I need.

Still can't figure out why the servo recoil isn't working though, I just hope that the corrupted signals the duff remote was sending out didn't include an undocumented signal to disable it somehow?

Pleased you have sorted out the IR problem. 're the recoil servo, is it possible to apply a voltage direct to the servo without blowing it, just to check where the problem lies?

It glitches when the power is turned on, and I have tested the servo in the elevation socket, and it works. The problem is one of two things as far as I can see, the corrupted IR signal from the duff programming remote has messed up the settings, or there is a problem with the signal getting through the board to the servo.

I've asked Clark if there is a way to reset the remote, and whether he knows what the problem might be. The servo is the only thing that isn't working.

I was kicking myself when I finally figured out that the remote was what was causing the programming problems, it was right at the bottom of the list of possible causes.

Andy/Tris

Panzer IV IR now working, muggins got the + and - round the wrong way, I just swapped the pins over on the plug and put it back in and it's all hunky dory. I could have done that at the meet...it only took 30 seconds... :(

Will take a look at the recoil servo and check the machine gun wiring, might even get this all working today.

All done except I am not touching that nefarious dual machine gun relay set up. lol.

The old recoil servo was toast so I installed another one, steel geared but even they burn out for a past time.
The IBU board is now in a 3d printed holder.
All of the wiring is tidied up with cable ties.

Here's a video to show it all working. It's now on the shelf and won't be touched till I bring it to the show.

If you think putting Milliput zimmerit on a KT is tedious, I can assure you that drilling out the barrel of a panzerschreck is about as mind numbing as it gets! :'(

Great progress on your various missions.

A slight problem. Not having a long enough drill bit, I started to attack the tube from the other end, having been pretty successful at keeping everything in a straight line from the front. Sadly, my aim had not been so good, and 40mm in, it has started to penetrate the side. Fortunately not enough to cause a problem. 50mm in from the front now, I can get another 3 or 4mm using my current drill. Just ordered a 100mm drill, which should be here in a couple of days. That should join up with the hole at the rear.

IPMS Show Heads Up!

Just received an email.

Doors open 7-9:30am for exhibitors, so we need to be set up by 9:00am. I will try and get there before 8:00am, collect the passes, and then will have to distribute them as we arrive. If you don't have my mobile number just PM me and I'll send it to you.

The earlier you get there, the closer to the doors you will get. It's a large car park and a long walk with tanks and scenery if you don't.

See you all on Sunday, we should be able to do ourselves proud with the scenery and tanks that we have.

If anyone has anything to sell, they do allow under the table trading, but ask that respect is shown for paying traders. There is no one in our club that is going to be selling shedloads of anythng so it doesn't really affect us.

Cheers
