Ibu 2/3...

Post by brizo58 »

Hi All,
I'm thinking of going for an ibu unit but they are absolutely new to me. So I need as much information as possible about witch one to buy and how to fit and use the above. Radio is no problem I have a 7.ch set and looking at getting the turngy 9xp pro. So info on the radio would be of great help as well. This well be for my Hooben Elefant that l'm in the process of building. Thanks in advance to all. Brian...

Or Ian (Forgebear) seeing how he sells them.

They're both very good units, I have both.

IBU3 all the way. Only kidding a quick summary

IBU2 Base. The entry level model great for heng long & taigen tanks using the standard mechanical devices (recoil, elevation)
IBU2 Pro. Base with extra features including servo output for elevation and traverse, so suitable for the Elefant (I believe uses servos)
IBU3. Top of the product line. Everything the IBU2 Pro does plus more, improved drive train, 15w amp as standard (so needs a decent speaker)

Also to change sounds and setting on IBU2 is via microSD card. IBU3 requires plugging into a PC computer for making changes, most people like this as can make changes and test at same time but a few people have complained struggle with the PC interface side of it.

Probably a load of others but without sounding like I'm rewriting the spec/feature sheet; the above are comments I hear back from users.
