Renault FT17- teapot tank
I don't suppose any members here are into making paper models of tanks, but here's a well constructed little webpage dedicated to that WW1 oddity, and resembling a teapot: the Renault FT17. Whilst the paper-modeller is clearly the intended target, the page is still quite interesting pour tout et sundry modellers, and the tank-though french- quite quirky et charmant.... http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models/veh ... -FT17.html

Interesting. Im currently trying to find an rc system small enough to wedge in to the Takom 1/16 model.

Tamiya twin gearboxes (the ones on the photo) and a rx18. Or you could try with the 1:35 rc tank tamiya system Did you do that tank? Can you give me any tip?Rocketman wrote:Interesting. Im currently trying to find an rc system small enough to wedge in to the Takom 1/16 model.

Re: Renault FT17- teapot tank
While it's not as iconic as the Mark V or as imposing as the A7V, the FT17 is such a cutie. My favourite WW1 tank for sure.
No way you'd get an IBU or Elmod in there, but would a Clark board fit? You could always mount it diagonally if need be, and squeeze a little LiPo underneath it.

Hiya. The RX18 wont fit in it! That is mine by the way. I had to carve the drive wheel to accept a meccano bush collar, glue that in then screwed it to the output shaft of the twin gearbox. The only thing i can think of is teh control board from a 1/30 hen long sherman but you dont see them very much anymore. Its now well down the priority list of jobs beghind the Abrams and few others though ....

There is even a guy that was able to keep the detailed interior, and you can find even a wire inside. I will give you the link when I arrive home.Rocketman wrote:Hiya. The RX18 wont fit in it!
