Hi all. Bought this Tank around 2009. well took it out the other day and found out the Sender Radio control unit is No Good. I have an other Tank that works fine and switched out the Crystals and sure enough it works fine. My Question is can I use this for an up Grade?--
thanks

Hi Antony,
You won't have to add anything after installing the New RX18 and 2.4 GhZ Transmitter,
I am making an assumption that the existing board in your Tiger is an RX18 board and all services are plugged into the sockets, as the earlier boards had the wires soldered into place.
Your old transmitter and RX18 control board have no further use,
You quite simply unplug the respective cables in the old RX 18 and plug into the New one,
After that you Bind the New Transmitter to the New RX18 using the supplied cable,
What you might like to do is to remove the whip Aerial from the centre of the Engine bay area as well as the small "PCB" into which that Aerial was wired as they would now both be redundant as well as the Aerial being wrongly positioned,
The volume control and the smoke switch in the Tank Hull are no longer needed as their controls are now on the transmitter.
I hope I am not teaching an old dog new tricks BUT the Old RX18 control board is housed in a close fitting plastic tray so lift it out and put the replacement board in and it will be as secure as the old board had been.
Shaun.

Re: Heng Long Tiger
Thanks Shaun, I just have to take the Tiger apart again to see what board I have. I fear it mite be an early version seeing that I bought it in like 2009. Also was thinking about just getting a new or used HL Sender Transmitter like the one that came with the Tank buy seem to be having a hard time finding one.?. That's why I would love to get the Upgrade.

Re: Heng Long Tiger
Antony, Do you have any idea why your original Transmitter has failed,
Please forgive me for asking a stupid question but have you not only changed the battery's in it but have you cleaned the contacts because after a long period of time they can forget what they should be doing?
New replacement crystals are still available if you can get your transmitter to work.
If you do have an earlier board, as long as the service connectors are "Plugged in" and not soldered then you are fine for the changeover to an updated board.
