number colours

Anyone tell me what colours for #333 of i think 505 heavy brigade or 312 of 502 battalion ?

Doc, "323" of Abteilung 502 were equal height numbers in solid black, I think I have a history of "312" as well as "333" of Abteilung 505,
I shall have a look.

ive seen 333 in blue but am wondering if that colour was specific in blue to 505. but i know there would have been many 333 tigers ! was also looking at wittmans 1311, his 1st tiger i think, which are in white but would love to do one from "tigers in the mud " ie 502 or 505 at Dunaburg.

As far as I know the numbers were black with white outline. From what I've read, and it makes sense, all the numbers were black with white outline and that why would the Germans had painted bright colored numbers on a perfectly camouflaged tank? It really doesn't make sense when you think about it. I mean sure red or blue looks pretty on our toy tanks but would you want to be sitting in the woods with 2 foot tall red numbers on the side of you turret? I know I sure as hell wouldn't!

thanks for the reply but wouldn't white numbers stick out more ? at 1000m i dont think any scope could read the numbers anyway. i''ve seen many red numbers painted so this is why i''m unsure mate !

I'm not sure about the units your looking at Doc have you tried the Tigers in focus website? Lots of good info on there!

LOL! Way too much conflicting informationbeing givenout on this board! This is where I read what I posted! Wish there were someway to get rid of all the incorrect information here.

Guess whoever it was I was quoting was wrong and the Germans did in fact paint their tanks like our toys. Wonder if that means they had pink tanks too.

But the pics of the 505th that I've seen along with the painting guide from rctanks.de they show black with white outline, all black, or all white. Not sure what other colors may have been used but as Tom pointed out other colors were used (I doubt pink was 1 of them though )
