Newbie

Post by Challenger2Pete »

Goodevening All, I am new to this forum having just bought myself a Heng Long Challenger 2 Tank in KFOR Sand (colour) will post some piccies once I receive it, I am looking on tipss to give it a bit of a weathered look or to actually re-paint it in camoflage green/black.

I live in Warrington, Cheshire previously having served with the RCT in Taunton, the RC I have is a Syma Quadcopter/Drone which i've flown twice but cannot get to grips with it.

Hi Pete, Welcome to the Forum,
If you need tips on a Challenger 2 build I suggest you go to the Forum and scroll down to HENG LONG Builds, Click on MODERN, and scroll down 14 entries to SCALAWAGS "CHALLENGER 2 BUILDS THREAD", Trust me it is as good as it gets, Plenty of detail and lots of pictures.
Every time I ask a Newcomer to our Forum where they bought or are buying their Tank I fear for the answer, So many people buy from a dodgy dealer before checking our BLACKLIST,
There are some well known names that are worth avoiding and even though some of the members have had good experiences with the likes of "TANKZONE" once bitten twice shy.
Ask all the questions, we love showing how clever and so often WRONG :{ some of us can be,
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Good to have you along Mr Challenger, Mr Jarndice is right when he recommends referencing Mr Scalawags build of your intended project.
There is a boat-load of history here in the completed builds from days past, techniques, and tips, triumphs and tests.
All of which are well worth the look.
There are also a couple of really good real-actual Challenger photo albums in the modern tanks section. Im sure these will be useful.

As most of us have a real short attention span for words, we like plenty of pictures. So please keep the portraits coming as you progress in your build.

Cheers

Herman
