Simply outstanding paint work! I envy your skill.
Just curious, why did you change your mind and decide to paint it? If I Had a full metal tank, I would want everyone to know its metal just by looking at it.

I know exactly what you mean bud. I think I got lucky in that the acrylics still make it look like it's metalthestig wrote:Hell-o Mitchell:

Re: Decided to paint it...
Just used acrylics mate, 4 coats all in. Biggest problem I had was shrinkage, the paint would shrink back round the edges. Sorted itself out after retouching and varnishing.jackalope wrote:That turned out fantastic!
So what did you do to get the paint to stick? I painted my M36 but the paint just chips off to the point I'm getting tired of touching it up.
Coated it with several coats of matt clear varnish to protect it from scratches and chips, which also had the effect of controlling the shrinking

Personally think painting it made it look much better. Your skill at doing that is evident in your finished product.

Nice one GG thank you. I'm so glad I did do it. Next project is the Stug3, which I'm going to try and replicate the Pz3greengiant wrote:Personally think painting it made it look much better. Your skill at doing that is evident in your finished product.
