TOP TIGER+PANTHER Books?(Highest quality Pics Content Only)?

Post by rctiger1 »

:D Hello Everyone

It as being some time since I last visited the site let alone posted anything
Have being very ill, nothing new there, moving on..

I Have being Trying off & On trying to put together a Top Quality Collection of The Very Best (PHOTO-STUDIES) Of TIGER/PANTHER TANKS E.T:C: Books,I have asked for help & Guidance on several levels including of course Forums.

The kind of books I like, are the top quality photo studies with exploded cations rather than the wordy tomes and all the tech stuff which of course as its many active devotees also.

Must admit to being very dissapointed with several books I was advised to buy IE= TIGERs in Combat 1 & 2 almost like photo copies so very poor and disappointing gave the books away + American & Allied tanks Encyclopedia the later edition was not very good (very Dark),the earlier edition was better.(I may look at trying to buy 1st editions of the dissapointing books, if folk feel the quality of the photographs (In 1st Edit)are worth it ?*)

It is very frustrating when it not practical or possible to see these books close up and decide weather to buy or not?
Must admit I do get very carried away and patience is not a strong point of mine

Of late I seem to have got a bit mad on the book buying, having purchased several in very quick succession (The following have yet to arrive)?

As Follows :-

TIGER I - ( 50 Anniversary 1942-1992) Uwe Feist RYTON
SCHWERE PANZER in Detail RYTON
TIGER I and STURMTIGER in Detail :RYTON
HUMMEL: 1 (Ryton )
Title: PANZERKAMPFWAGEN PANTHER-( 50 Anniversary)RYTON: FEIST, UWE, & BRUCE CULVER

TIGERS AT THE FRONT: A Photo Study (Hardback)Edited by Thomas L. Jentz

I have a feeling from what I have being able to learn and view online that one or two of the above (expensive) books may not fall in to my personal criteria, and maybe not what I should have purchased,? possibly fellow members can give me their take on the above books.?

I have 2 x Books on my ready to order list IE:-

STURMGESSSCHUTZ:- RYTON

PANTHER IN DETAIL-Author(s)Bruce Culver, Uwe Feist:- RYTON

I only noticed after ordering PANZERKAMPFWAGEN PANTHER,that PANTHER IN DETAIL-Author(s)Bruce Culver, Uwe Feist is very similar??
and if so I wonder if someone can tell me which to Buy/Keep? as I said have not yet ordered PANTHER IN DETAIL[/baa.

Also I am finding I am moving in to the wider Non TIGER/PANTHER World?(hate to miss anything! (but Think I must be practical and maybe ONLY!concentrate on the two Main Stars (PANTHER/TIGER)??

IE "HUMMEL"(Bought) "STURMGESSSCHUTZ" (Have not bought yet) I will sell any books which do not fit well???

I sincerely apologise for my long winded post! I am a terrible writer :{ :{

I would be so very grateful and obliged to fellow members if they can please suggest Additional Titles Covering the Tiger& Panther families!

The Criteria being heavy on Photo Quality Low on text I love the books with just exploded captions and super Pics!
but I also realise that it is not always possible to get one without the other and accept that some of the best Photo books also are heavy in TEXT & highly Technical (I suspect some of those RYTON Books may fall in to this category?

Once again apologies for waffling

Cheers Steve
