Postie delivered Tiger1
Postie delivered Tiger1
Hi really happy with my new Tiger 1 tank which arrived nicely packed and safe. But I have noticed one thing is missing and that is the antenna from the New 2.4Ghz Version new controller I would presume it will have one. I did not know the problems with Nitrotek before joining. I have sent then an email and hopefully get an answer. If my control needs an antenna can I buy them if I get no joy from Nitrotek. Apart from that everything else is spot on. ;)here is a picture of the new controller.

Kevin, Hi, If yours is a HENG LONG with the latest series 3 Controller fitted, then your Transmitter will have just a Stub Aerial,
As to the Tank itself the only Heng Long Tanks that came with an Aerial were the early 27 MhZ Crystal fitted units which had a working wired in example that were unfortunately in the wrong position. and also came with plenty of other built in problems such as shoddy build and cheap everything.
They really are a better Tank now.
I am not sure about the TAIGEN Transmitter but all modern 1/16 R/C Tanks are 2.4 GHz so the Aerial is never much of one to look at and certainly the old have your eye out whip aerial is long gone. The simple test is first put in a charged battery then "BIND" the Transmitter to the Receiver and see how/if it goes. GOOD LUCK.
Shaun.

Re: Postie delivered Tiger1
Hi Shaun everything is working fine the controller must be the newer version. I needed to make sure everything was working as it should and its spot on. I must be one of the luckier people who have dealt with Nitrotek and its spot on.

Shaun now I can concentrate on carrying out little fixes a bit at a time. The pistol port is in the correct place so this must be the more upto date version of the Tiger 1 Tanks. I have reinforcement brackets and ventilation hatch items on order so they will be going on first.

Re: Postie delivered Tiger1
Kevin, Will you be keeping it an Early Tiger 1? a MID ? or a Late ?
I don't know how much detail you will include but I can help on the dates that different changes were made to the Tiger 1.
For instance the first 50 Tunisian Tigers were fitted with different Air cleaners to the later "Early" as well as different front and rear fenders and so it goes on.
I can offer as much or as little help as you want,
The great thing about 1/16 Tigers is that most upgrades are out there which means that only a few bits and pieces need scratch building

Hi Shaun that is a good question but I need to start and research seen as I have my tank now. I don't like a lot of camo but I do like the grey tiger 1 tank as I know they did use that colour. If you could give me more info regarding this colour of tiger tank. And what failures and fixes I should be carry out. I have ordered reinforcement brackets for now one step at a time.

Mate you have the Gen 3 2.4G rig. No aerial required.
The tank also does not require a working aerial so you can relocate the brass base to the correct spot and dummy one up for accuracy.
As an example of how detailed you can go, check out Tanks For The Memories Normandy Tiger!
Gods luck on your build
