First tank inbound

Post by DevonportDave »

My first R/C tank is inbound from the fatherland, a Jagdpanther with the metal upgrades from rctank.de
Dominique answered my emails very quickly and in better English than mine.
I was hoping for some advice from you guys as to what would be required to run in the gearboxes and motors or do you just press the fast button and stand back?
Cheers

When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Hi Topdog
Sorry for not getting back to you at the rush but lets just say I'm out of hospital now but on crutches.
I'm no expert on this new hobby but my first impressions are mixed but on the whole positive.
Good bits are the metal hull/drive/tracks-very solid and also the service from Dominique (don't know if a bloke or bird but good at his/her job- prompt reply to emails/delivery etc.
Bad bits are the spray job isn't great (spoiled by the works of art on the website), the gearbox/motors would need eventually improving (seem to drive too fast but no torque on thick grass, poor battery life.
I think this version gets you quite a long way up the upgrade hill if you aren't a boffin like me.
Hopes this helps

Dave, DOM is a (Bird) and as you acknowledged extremely helpful and has an embarrassingly good grasp of English,
I am pleased you had the wit to buy from a respected dealer who can provide a total upgrade service for your Jagdpanther.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
