The Crazy Landkreuzer P.1000 project never morphed from drawing into reality, but if it had, a 1/16 model of it would need to be more than 6ft long! Imagine that coming through the post
The Landkreuzer, as its name suggests was meant to be a sort of warship on land. Weighing over 1000 tonnes, it would have been over 35mtrs long and powered by two u-boat engines.
Here's an artists impression of what it might have looked like, together with examples of other monster tanks, some of which actually made an appearance in steel:

Then there was the 'Maus', a modest 188 tons, and only 33 ft long, by comparison. Two were made..well one and a half, since one prototype was minus a turret. It had a 128mm cannon, and armour in excess of 200mm
(8in) practically throughout.

Then there was the British Tortoise A39, at over 80tons, and sporting a 94mm gun, 9 were built.

Clearly the Brits didn't indulge fantasy in the way the Germans did...

I'm finishing the A39 tortoise that Ian started, I've also got his kv-5 which I'm detailing up and making battle ready. Do they count?

I shall certainly consider that option, Jack...but for the moment, I'm trying to find activities that don't involve sitting on your a**e (US: A** ) all day! (Quack's advice.. ) I'm also trying to recover lost muscle in my damaged leg. Plus, I'm trying to manage my addictions, not boost them

I imagine the Tortoise will be quite a tricky challenge, as it's quite curvy...so I will be really curious to see the finished product...
