88mm Flak 36 Crewmen

Post by silversurfer1947 »

I am desperately trying to find 1/16 or 1/18 figures to make up a crew for a Merit Flak 36 (or 2). I know I found one figure on line, which I thought I had bookmarked, but now can't find. He was holding a round of ammunition - the figure was in shirtsleeve order. All I can now find is a Verlinden tank crew figure. If anyone can point me in the right direction, preferably without it costing an arm and a leg, I would be grateful. Sadly, anything in the US tends to be ruled out because of prohibitive shipping costs.

If this is in the wrong place, I hope a nice, kind mod would move it to it correct home.

Hi silver,

Do the figures need to be static or are action figures an option? 21st Century toys aka Ultimate Soldier made the original Merit 88 you have as well as loads of crew for it. Some have accessories like rangefinders that might even help further. They are typically on ebay and came in both a DAK color and standard Gray. The DAK version was named Erdmann and gray was Bucholtz. Note the accessories and multiple leg options for different poses.

Good evening,
OnTrack has the right of it. Those 1/18 figures are amazingly useful and their equipment can be interchanged to form other types. Even better, basic figures can be bought on EBay and equipped out of left over gear from others.

Painless

I would settle for anything. Unfortunately, the Lt Bucholtz figure only seems to feature on the US ebay site, where the total cost exceeds $46, which is a bit much for my pocket. The Erdmann figure is a little cheaper, but still seem pricey to me.

Thanks. I'll have a look. The cost of shipping across the pond is a real pain, so it will be an important factor

Richard, I just typed 21st century toys into E-BAY (The British Site) and there is a selection available although a bit of a curates egg I fear, but certainly cheaper than buying from the USA, Worth a look.

hi all

unfortunately, they are difficult to find lately, but keep looking because they show up from time to time

in my club we bought A LOT of them to populate the Panzodrom, because we have several defensive positions that must be manned, so in the last 3 years we bought several dozens

once we finish the positions the plan is to glue all the parts and figures in place, this is a small sample of how it will be at the end:

so, as i said, keep looking for them

best regards
