Tamiya Jagdpanther (or Panther) suspension

Post by h5djr »

Hi guys. I built a Tamiya Tiger 1 many years ago which is still working fine. I am now trying to build a new Jagdpanther kit and I am having problems getting the suspension torsion bars and suspension arms installed. I know it's basically the same as the Tiger but I just cannot get them to works as the instructions.
Has anyone got any tips to help.
Many thanks
Dave

There is a knack to twisting and pushing them.

Take your time and don't rush it, apply some grease to the hole they slot into and make sure are twisting the right way.

I have built both the Tiger and Panther, the Tiger being my first ever attempt. I found the Tiger suspension so easy and expected the Panther to be even easier, but it was a struggle. The arms need more persuasion, but eventually it did all go together.

I agree there is a particular way it fits and it suddenly HAPPENS,
Just keep at it it'll work.
Once the Torsion bar is properly installed I suggest you paint the area around the screw with "LOCTITE" unless you want to strip your Tank down to retighten the bl**dy screws again!! :lolno:
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
