Sabertooth dual 12A driver for motors

Post by tao »

I hear this is a nice driver for motors. It can also be hooked up from TBS/DBC to motors- bypassing RX-18.

12 amp per motor- peak 25 amp. Is that in the right range?

Should be okay, I've ran 480 speed motors and they were only 5a each.

But don't forget the rx18 also controls the traverse and elevation motors, so you would also need to convert to servo or add small esc to control those motors. So could get messy with components and wiring it all.

To your point I don't need to do it as RX is doing fine running promax 480 motors. But if I did I would just plug the Saber into the BARC TBS for motors and leave RX for traverse and elevation. But good catch! I should have said to bypass RX-18 for drive motors.
I was looking at it because it has some cool features and easy to plug in if just for drive.
