Post arrived today. While it was none of the extra diecast and stuff I have ordered for the village, the packing for the new airgun was some really cool and potentially useful styrofoam. With this as building material, lots of things like a foot bridge or columns could be enhanced or built.

Better be a bridge with little rise in its center. That car has the perfect long wheelbase to high center right in its middle. Saw that happen on a real old steep bridge over some railroad tracks.

The Lords O' The Post smiled upon me today and several boxes arrived with more Village scenery bits. One of these is really interesting. It is a metal French Solido 1949 VW Bug. I had seen several Wehrmacht VWs and wanted one for my village but the 100.00 + cost of the plastic 1951 models kept me from pursuing the idea seriously. Typing diecast VW into EvilBay found this gem and being careful about the auction times brought success and saw it delivered home today. It will get a repaint and some gear and soldaten added and be a nice addition to the scenery. The other bits were some 1930's diecast gas pumps in 1/18 and a super nice Yat Ming 1932 Ford coupe ( some prosperous Farmer or Businessman's prize possession before the War started, no doubt ) to place in town. More to follow and things are coming together faster now that the move-in is nearly complete. Pics:

How do you like the gas pumps? I've been looking at those myself, as they're reasonably priced and should make good accessories. I know of farms that have their own gas pumps, but I was thinking of doing a filling station.

I also ordered a yat ming truck, how do you like the coupe? I've been thinking about a '40 ford, but the mercedes 500k has also caught my eye.

Jarndice,
You and your Credit Rating should definitely enjoy! ;o) Max, the Pumps are solid and heavy and will look great at either venue. I plan on doing a small Gas Station as well. ;o)

UPS surprised me with a late delivery today. This particular Mercedes is another in the line of premier reproductions from Signature. Since the village I am building has the German Army playing defense against encroaching Allied forces, it is possible that this car and it's occupants got caught up in the middle of something that developed rapidly around their 'Honeymoon' experience. Herman,
Good morning! Thank you, I'm looking forward to having them show up in photos of my little Tank set up. I've been thinking about making it two level with a hill in one corner with a dirt road up to the top of it for a Flak set up.
regards,
Painless
