Paper Panzer E-100 Ausf B/Henschel Turret

Post by MichaelC »

I have been working on this for quite some time, but just like the real thing, took a long time to get all the parts together. Just a mock-up right now, no idea how well it is going to run, hopefully a little bit better than his twin (The Maus) as this one has a working suspension. Major parts bashing to come up with this monster.

I called it "Christians'" kit........... Body and turret from Christian Ludwig and road wheels from Christian Juckenburg. Tracks and sprockets are Matorro, all the other bits are from Heng Long/Matorro King Tiger metal parts. Barrel is the same metal Jagdtiger one, with Ludwig's resin mantlet. Suspension I choose the Tamiya KT option from Ludwig. I have to ball bearing Juck's resin idlers and road wheels to fit.

I was going to put in the extra black metal gerbox and 480 motors from my Leo, but thought better of it and just put in a plastic gearbox. The metal gears and the 480 might shed everything to pieces since it is basically all plastic, styrene and resin running gear.

Its the basic kit. There is some re-enforcement with the kit but it is definitely not the strongest. I can total see scale thickness at least for the styrene kit for sure, but it is way above my budget. That's why I went with Juckenburg's resin wheels as well. Budget doesn't allow the metal ones from Ludwig.
