LOOK WHAT WAS FOUND AT CAR BOOT FAIR

Post by jeman »

Hi all,
My mate got this Tamiya Tiger 1/16 today at a car boot fair ! Its a little battle damaged but looks good inside. It has two batteries fitted one of them is a SPORT 1500 PACK. It doesn't have a transmitter with it but everything seems to be there inside the tank.........and how much do you think he paid for it ?....... five pounds  what a result. But can you guys give any idea what it would cost getting it up and running ? I don't have any knowledge on these as I have Taigen Tigers.....any help would be great. I have had a look around inside at the electronics and taken a few pics for you guys to have a look :D

Hi All you need is a 2,4ghz transmitter and receiver one of these will work with it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251467498112? ... EBIDX%3AIT
you will need a charger as well. Most of the bits missing can be bought from ebay so no problem re fitting , one cheap way is to make it a real early one which don't have mud guards on the side . You have a bargain there bang it on ebay if you don't want to fix it should sell for over a 100 quid.

Definitely the Score of the Week, My Man. Good find.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Ahhh, what a shame, I can see from the pics that the crankleflange on the spoolitoff, is missing, and that the electrical system is the old one made using unobtanium plugs. Quite obviously the seller was waiting for someone who was less knowledgeable than myself to purchase this worthless model.

However, as I have total sympathy with you and in order to assist you in overcoming your grief at your decison to buy, I am prepared to offer you £20 in order that you may purchase a Heng Long Pantiger as a replacement.

That poor old girl has had a tough life but it looks like a fun and pretty straightforward restoration project. Great find.

Hi all, I'm actually the fella who was lucky enough to buy this tank at the boot fair! I have also bought one if these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251467498112? ... EBIDX%3AIT
And downloaded the instructions for building the tank including how to install the transmitter and receiver. I've wired it all together with the 4 channels into the receiver and when powered the receiver box lights up but when I press the 'set' button as per the instructions i only get 2 orange flashing lights on the drive controller, the instructions say it's a problem with the transmitter or wrong crystal!
Not having done this before I'm at a complete loss where to go to now so can anyone offer any suggestions as where I am going wrong?
