Ibu and smoker

Good afternoon
I'm looking to wire my smoker element straight to the battery leaving the fan connected to the Ibu.
What size in line fuse would be recommended to protect things should a short occur.

I suggest 1A fast fuse, since the stock HL smoker draws max. 800mA, should be enough

I have a tarr smoker,would that be the same.

Hi Del,
Honestly i don't know how much current the TARR smoker draw, but i don't think it can be more than the stock HL.
In this case start with 1 Amp. fuse and see what happens.
