Re: MODERN TANK BUILDS
Good feedback fellas.
I get that the Modern section is in General, but in lieu of inserting another topic line in the builds section, having all the actual modern builds in one place should be an advantage.
Looking at the current modern section from a discussion only perspective, it has not really had much action.
There is also many prime posts such as Simon M's with real pictures of Challengers in training that are in another section !
I just reckon the modern builds and the research surrounding them needs to be in one place.
To give due respect to the effort and sheer volume of modern builds that reflects the changing face of the hobby from Tiger 1's and other stuff, to mass produced MBT's and superb scratch builds of todays combat machines, they deserve a dedicated build section.
How about as a trial, the modern builds from the last three pages in each build section be shifted into the Modern and see how it looks ?
If its not really a gain, they can be moved back.
Nothing lost, nothing permanent.
See how it goes and perhaps the admin team would consider creating a dedicated modern builds section.
As a side note, all the corrections done on the Abrams and Challengers would be excellent to have in the "things to fix on your new tank" but so far, none have been put in !
So far this is leaning towards "yes, move them - BUT" ....................lets trial it & see eh ?

Re: MODERN TANK BUILDS
I'am a complete novice when it comes to r.c. tanks so to have a dedicated forum within a forum for modern tanks would help me with my chally 2 build although i'm not as skilled as some on here i can learn a lot from others builds . Hope you don't mind my comment being a recruit i did have my feet together while writing this

Re: MODERN TANK BUILDS
Righto, I will move the modern posts into the Modern section in general .
I will try to move at least three pages in each build section so the front page of Modern is fully populated.
Remember, it's not a permanent thing, it can be reversed. Thanks again for the input, this place is for all of us to enjoy & everyone that has constructive input is very welcome to have their say.
"Officers" share two major things with the recruit;
" they both sit to take a dump and can only put one leg in a pair of trousers at once"
Let's give the modern section a go & see where it leads
Cheers

Re: MODERN TANK BUILDS
Cheers Guv............
I've made a start Gents.
The H/L section has had the first three pages of modern builds moved, as has the first two of Tamiya.
I know I have missed some that can be rightly called 'Modern Builds' but I tried to transfer the most completed and therefore useful builds under the one banner and I can tell you, they look awesome grouped together
Thats my thoughts, and as I have said, its not set in stone.............

Re: MODERN TANK BUILDS
Are you going to move it back to the build thread?

It is really nice to see all the modern armor in one place. Saves a lot of searching around different threads to get pics and info on them.

Re: MODERN TANK BUILDS
Modern tanks need their own place IMHO. Not everyone wants to model modern stuff, I'm one of those who probably never do anything modern just because I HAVE to draw the line someplace! Because if I don't I'll go even more crazy!
That said I can certainly appreciate the hard work that you modern modelers put into your works of art. I say works of art because sure they may be toys but after you spend months if not a year or more building, detailing, and painting what else would you call them? They're not toys anymore that's for damn sure!
