My first Tamiya Big kit

Post by Markocaster »

I have always wanted to build a Tamiya kit from start to finish. I have a Tamiya Tiger 1 , but it was bought already built. So with the tax return my wife got new shoes etc... And I got...

I picked it up from a local tanker whe never got to it. And he even threw in the Fatuba 4WD radio and receiver at no extra charge. :) :)
Now if I can just finish working on my taigen projects I can start on this beauty!
HL /Mato tiger 1 early, Tamiya Tiger 1 early, Taigen tiger 1 mid
Taigen T34/85, HL SU-100
Jagdpanzer Lang
Taiga Jagdpanther
Heng Long Sherman DGS Firefly kit
Tamiya King Tiger (unbuilt)
Mato all metal Panzer III
1/10 Jagdpanther

Enjoy! The only upgrade it really needs is a beefed up idler adjuster and maybe a tu brace. Aside from that good to go!

See that's what I want to stumble upon! Great find!

I was offered an built 1980's 1st or 2nd run KT that was in dreadful shape and in need of a rebuild. The clutches were burned out to the point the tank hardly could move! The guy wanted $400 for it, I nearly laughed at him! :haha: Then was extremely offended when I started sh I wing him the problems with it and informed him that the clutches were no longer available. He told me I could upgrade to a dual motor set up and new radio gear, I asked him if he thought $400 for a static model was fair, he walked away! LOL!

I have been watching them on evil bay and the old ones go for close to what the new one does.
Seems there is the old rc version a motorized version and the new kit. Lots of the old ones are build , missing bits and called rare!

I agree, it's a dream kit we all have longed for; congrats on your new purchase! I also see people who did not take care of their tiger try and sell it for tons of money... Ummm, yea, ok, well Meanwhile you can buy it new for only a few bucks more. Plus the new ones have all of the goodies.

Send it to Detroit, Mark. I have time. @) @) @)
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!
