New Product, Door And Window Stickers

Post by Max-U52 »

Hi Guys,

Our fellow RC Tanker, Greg**, has come up with a line of stickers made to convert an ordinary cardboard box into a reasonable building for IR battlefield (or backyard airsoft) use. He sent me some for testing and to get my opinion of the product, and these are the results.

Questions? Comments? Suggestions?

I think they're great and plan to get more, especially once Greg expands the selection a bit, and I can't wait to see what he comes up with for textures and weather-resistant materials. I think Potemkin Village is one to watch, and we'll be seeing a lot of innovative stuff comin' out of that little hamlet in the mountains. Greg was generous enough to send me some prototype patterns for church windows and I'll soon make a video of a new church for my tank park.

You could probably get at least a couple of packs of these stickers in an envelope the size of a Christmas Card, so I don't think shipping from Colorado to the UK or Europe would be too bad, so I think this is a viable product for recommendation to my overseas comrades.

Greg has named his park "Tankland", do you guys think my village needs a name? I was thinking of West Illesheim. You can google the real Illesheim, unless maybe you're a real tanker and know of it already. 8)

** On RCU Greg is known as "Pah Co Chu Puk", or Paco for short, and I've suggested he register here. I rarely suggest that to guys, since this is my home forum and I'm a huge snob and only the very best get a recommendation from me to join up here. Greg is an avid, talented and innovative RC Tanker and I know he would be a valuable asset should he sign up here and start making regular visits. As a snob my main goal is to help ensure that RCTW has only the cream of the crop when it comes to RC Tankers ... So how the hell did I get in?!? @) @) @)

Gary Hi,
I agree about PACO, A very welcome addition to the Forum,
There is a Panther or two who would also find a warm welcome.
As to the name of your Battleground I would suggest SENNELAGER 2 except for the bad memories that it holds, Night jumps that seemed to always end up immersed in cold muddy water. :lolno:
Shaun.

OK, other than the wet part there's really nothing that holds any meaning for me there. I lived in Illesheim and think it's fitting due to it's layout, very small and mostly straight, basically just a wide spot on the highway, and much more fitting for my village, so nice try, Shaun, but unless you go back to the drawing board, West Illesheim it shall be. Of course, Roy is still unheard from so we'll delay any final decision. And he who's name must not be spoken would probably only suggested something smart-ass anyway. 8)

Gary let me save you the time ,
Sennelager is a military training area in North Western Germany and it is just a bit more inhospitable than Salisbury Plain in Southern England.
Although the worst place as far as memories go is a live firing area in the Netherlands where a point fifty Browning on a fixed line opened up on me as I was muttering and swearing my way across an assault course :lolno: >:<
Oh how I laughed (NOT).

OK, I understand better your experience there. If I went for field experience I'd go for Hohenfels or Grafenwöhr, as that's where i spent time when i was there (501st CAB, basically US Army helicopters, before the AAH-64 came out). My experience mainly consisted of guarding roads while the fly-boys and Tankers got to play. :'(

I'm glad you agree that Paco would make a valuable addition, and I'm glad you did not agree with "how the hell did I get in?" :haha: :haha:

Back to the topic at hand, what did you think about the stickers, Shaun?

I cannot imagine how we have managed without you, :D as to the stickers I think if you are constructing an urban battleground they would be invaluable.

I have memories of flying around West Berlin following the Wall and Fence using at the time extraordinarily secret recon kit,(Binoculars :haha: well a few cameras also)
In the daytime we flew from RAF Gatow in Westland Scouts and at night we would drive over to Templehof and fit a Huey with our stuff and the US Army would fly us.
The East German's did not like it very much and would shine their searchlights into the aircraft,
I have never forgotten the view as we went past each tower they would swing the searchlight around to the next one and they would light up waiting for our approach.
Interesting times, although I am pleased that Germany is now whole, Far too much pain for too long.
