Rob, can you tell me what material the existing roadway is made from, please?

I think it is just a piece of ply or hardboard, probably hardboard. I did it so long ago I honestly can't remember?

Thanks. I've now got an idea how I'm going to attempt it. I just hope it works. It could get very messy.

Not sure about the grass down the middle, but apart from that, love it.

The reason for the grass is that I find that country roads and dirt tracks tend to build up debris in the middle, where the wheels/tracks don't run. Grass tends to grow in patches there, but I can always remove it if people don't like it. Let me do the ramps so that Rob's tanks can get access, and then decide.

I've done one end, as requested. Could not match the colour, but hopefully it does not look too bad.

The other end will bit a bit trickier. The angle of the existing road means there will quite a long slope to reach ground level. As a consequence, the final piece of scenery would be enormous. I am going to make this end as a detachable piece that (hopefully) will lock in underneath. It will involve the judicious use of cling film and expanding foam (don't ask). More photos when complete.

He never had a model railway! lol

Ok, seeing as I spent a little while costing out Clark boards from different suppliers, I thought I would post the results here as we had a chat about them and the cheapest suppliers etc. I am not recommending any one of them, just letting you know what the differences are in case any of you decide that you want one in any upcoming projects.

ClarkModel
TK22
£62.49 plus postage £3.47. Total 65.96
TK24
£86.79 plus postage £3.47. £90.26
Also essential:
IR 5 pin - Can't seen them listed but he does sell them. Probably $2.
IR 2 pin CAB001 $1
Muzzle flash 2 pin CAB001 $1
All are free shipping with the board

DKLM
TK22
£69.43 plus postage £2.92 (i think?). £72.35
TK24
£93.73 plus postage £2.92 (i think?). £96.65
You will still need the three plugs for the IR muzzle flash, but I don't see them listed by DKLM.
They can be purchased from Clark separately at $1 postage.

Tankzone
TK22
£69.95 free postage.
TK24
£84.95 free postage
You will still need the three plugs for the IR muzzle flash, but I don't see them listed by DKLM.
They can be purchased from Clark separately at $1 postage.

So, subject to exchange rates, there you go, just in case you ever wondered! :haha:
Remember that if more than one board is wanted, or more than one person wants a board then Clark only charges $1 extra per board, so if anyone is thinking of getting one then it might be an idea to put a joint order in.

Either way the differences in delivered prices isn't huge no matter where you go.

Nice one Rob, just remember, we may run the risk of import duties being applied on 2 of the three, I am not implying to buy from the local option, just something to be aware of.

Nice work Richard.
