Thanks guys. I've ordered some longer static grass (provided I can get it to stand up) and some lichen to make some allbeit small bushes. It should add a little to the realism.

Rob, Thinking about the remote triggering of an mp3 player, I had a hunt and came up with this. http://www.stuffandthings.co.uk/mp3.htm
Over the top for what you have in mind, but i thought it might provide some food for thought.

88mm Gun emplacement

Post by silversurfer1947 »

One leg of a pair of tights, 2.5 packets of Milliput = 48 sandbags. I shall have to try a rough assembly to see how many sandbags I shall need. Not sure whether to go for two separate stands, or one larger enclosure for both guns. Anyone any thoughts? Also, if, as I fear, it's going to need a lot, if anyone can think of a cheaper option than Milliput, I'm all ears.

I still have the other leg and another 2.5 packets, so should have a final total approaching 100 bags.

That's the sort of thing we need, but something simpler and probably cheaper would do the job. Just drive over a Microswitch and starts a circuit?

I have no idea how you are doing this with a pair of tights, how do you get them off when they are full of milliput ??

:D Careful forethought pays dividends. Always check to make sure the tights are empty before filling with Milliput :D

Aerial view of the cutting, with the basic dirt road. More to do once the PVA has completely set.

Well, here it is in virtually its final incarnation. The only thing missing is the long grass, which was due for delivery today. Second class post isn't what it used to be.

I am pushing the boat out with this request, but any chance of bringing the ramps down to ground level, my tanks with smooth track pads don't grip enough to get over the step. :(
