Ordering direct from Hooben dot com

Post by pedal2metal »

I did a search and found zero, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience w/ ordering directly from Hooben? I see they sell and mail items to the US, where I'm at; at least appears so. Also, has anyone dealt with HengLongPanzer.de? I see they too have the 1/16 Elefant kit, which is what I want. Thanks, Royce

If you are ordering direct from hooben make sure you use PayPal as they don't have a great reputation. If you are after the elefant kit I believe that ETO armour in the states were able to get one for a member on here

Thank you, Tom. The price of $240 for the kit is very good, I would imagine, but I'm sure the S/H w/b $100 USD or so.

Royce Hi, I bought a CLARK board from www.heng-long-panzer.de and it was easy as anything, and a quick turn around,
Just a small tip, if you don't speak German, just click beside the flag and the union flag drops down , click on that and most of the site is in English.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks Shaun. Yea, their site seems nice enough and they show the elefant in stock... but the S/H to the US was close to $150. So, I'm going to check w/ Hooben direct now that I know you can order from them and cut out the middle man.

I've dealt with Hooben a number of times and never had any issues. I ordered one of the older T-55 kits through them directly and they even replaced a couple of bad sprues free of charge.

Thats good to know; as soon as I can get some extra cash, I want to place an order since their prices are the best I have seen (which of course they s/b).

Well, I placed an order direct; so we'll see. The S/H cost was about what I thought it w/b to send to US. I didn't order the metal barrel since it added a good bit to the S/H total cost, for whatever reason. I think I could lathe one up pretty easily.

Pedal,
I'm happy to hear that you found a kit and it is on the way! I've wanted an Elefant for some time as well. It's a good thing that Hooben\ARC is making them available again. Mine should be in OKC by Friday then here shortly afterwards. Really looking forward to this. ;o) I know that you are as well. I'll be checking out your build so plenty of pics, please. It will be some time before I can begin mine.
regards,
Painless

Oh wow, I didn't realize your kit was not in your hands yet; here I was thinking it was already built! That will be cool to see some adl builds on here; "Mrs Feng" wrote me this a.m. to double check my address, which I thought was cool since once it leaves their hands it's probably a nerve wracking thing. When I ordered it they wrote me and said they will cover (or I guess any parts) 100% if something would go wrong while it's heading to me. I thought that was cool of them! If this works out, I might order another to hold onto, well that is if I can sell some other junk off on ebay in time to build my paypal acct back up. I'm looking forward to your build as well!
