M4A3 Top hulls
Will someone please set me straight. The upper hull on Tamiya's M4 and M-51 differs from that of the Taigen and Heng Long M4 upper hulls. Could someone tell me which is correct for the M4, or are they both correct or both wrong? Thank you
Joe

First off tamiyas super Sherman isn't an m51, it's pretty much ficticious. The Tamiya hull is correct for an m4 radial engine. The henglong, Taigen and metal Mato are correct for m4a3s

Not even close sir.Eastern Front wrote:Jtracks,
Just for the record, Tamiya doesn't usually build "Ficticious" tanks. Their bread and butter really surrounds either real built examples or things that actually made it to a drawing board.
So, The Tamiya Super-Sherman or "Isherman" M-51 is accurate.
Cheers!

I'm a sucker for tanks with a recoiling barrel, just have to have that feature on my tanks. That's the main reason why I didn't buy Tamiya's M4 kit.

I've stopped posting photo's. Each time I did I got blasted by the rivet counters so no more. I'd rather build them from the box, with a few exceptions, and run them. That is where my enjoyment comes from.Eastern Front wrote:JT,
Yeah, I am the same way,,love the recoil abilityI never build the 105 Sherman's' for the same reason...
Good luck with your build and post up pictures!
Cheers!
I do enjoy seeing all of the hard work some put into making and building an accurate tank, I don't have the skills to do that so I do what's within my ability and then just drive the hell out of them.

We talked about it some time ago. You can have recoil for 1GBP servo using the stock boring Tamiya electronics:
