WTF do they think you're going to do threaten someone with a fake bullet? I'd think a rock would be more dangerous! Wait are rocks illegal too? What about big sticks? :haha:
Never mind sticks and stones hurting people: you can be easily fined for the 'wrong' combination of words these days, for hurting someone's delicate sensibilities. Boo hoo :O As yet, though, the compensation costs of hurting someone's feelings in the UK haven't reached the otherworldly levels they've attained in the States... ('Hulk Hogan..allegedly'). So while i can't say boo to a goose these days either (Animals Rights spies on the case)..I can whizz over to
Zurich to play with these..a small part of my son's collection. Some of these I've posted before. We walked around Zurich on the way to a range carrying these in bags, along with three assault rifles and a shotgun (all absolutely legal)..and nobody batted an eyelid. Having only one of these..even a single 9mm Luger shell would get me five years in Pokey here in Scotland,or other parts of the UK... :wtf:

All I have found so far is the Aber 16012, which is 3 shell and a wooden box, for about £20. I was hoping for something cheaper. Resin or brass. There is a huge selection in 1/35, but when it comes to 1/16, zilch.
I have some 5.56 spent Nato rounds (From an AR 15). In fact, I have used rounds of all shapes and sizes. By my reckoning, 5.56 is roughly 1/16 of 88mm..so they're to scale, if not shape exactly. I can bring some more back from Zurich on my next visit. Most times, Swiss customs aren't fussed by me packing a few in my carry on luggage, although I did have a bunch confiscated once...

Hi Silver

I am currently assembling a Merit 1/16 Flak 88. This has four 88mm shells and a shell crate in the kit.

It was given to me by Andy to build as the centrepiece of a diorama for the battlefield, however, if you have a chat with Andy he may be willing to let you have the shells, as they won't make a big difference to how the completed model will look. If he is happy to let you have them I'll bring them along to the meet on the 17th.

Will do. There may be a surplus of anti-tank guns, as I have a ready built Merit 88mm, which is also intended for a battlefield diorama!

The one I was given was part assembled, my guess is that somewhere in its life an owner had started the build, glued a couple of parts on incorrectly and suddenly realised that these were an integral part of how the completed model would look. I have had to gently disassemble some of what was done and rebuild, at least things line up now...
I do however wish that they hadn't cut the sprues up to get parts off, I am now left with unidentifiable parts on unmarked bits of sprues that Sherlock would have a problem with....and there are a 'lot' of parts on these. Aaaarghh... :{

Good to hear that you are doing some scenery, that makes you a full member. :P

Wibbs, I thought the Merit 88 was 1/18 scale? Did they at one point make a 1/16 scale kit? I've searched everywhere and all I can find is the 1/18 offering.

The Merit 88 is 1/18 scale, I have one I'm building. It's basiclly the same one you can buy pre built, and they're all 1/18.

Which is why I have all 1/18 stuff for my tanks, it makes them look bigger and meaner IMHO.

Rob,
Looks like Andy has something on mind for the ammunition. Thanks for the thought.

Edit
Having just read your latest post in the BAD thread, I realise I contacted the wrong Andy. I pmed Spartan Tracks. I will try again with TK Commander

Doesn't Verlinden make an 88 round? Isn't there one included with the German equipment kit?

Is this an 88?
