Recognition models and scale prototypes

Post by 43rdRecceReg »

Just saw an interesting article on 'recognition models' made in WW2. This also got me thinking about the working scale prototype models Henschel, Porsche and others came up with for the Tiger and Panzer range., to demonstrate their wares to the General Staff and the Austrian Corporal.
A saw a couple of originals (beautifully detailed..and with german engineering, of course) for sale on an antiques programme a few years ago, and the owner wanted thousands for them (GBP...) I saw a couple of similar prototype all-metal models in the Swiss Military museum, and then again, in a DVD entitled 'Panzer Battles' we can see delighted german generals playing with a working model of an early Panther tank. Has anybody else got pictures of these models?
