Re: Best cannon shot I've ever seen.
I had read that the 6mm paint balls would burst inside the tank if I tried to use them. Does anyone know if this is correct or not? The tank in the video sure seems to be working just fine.
Re: Best cannon shot I've ever seen.
I've never had one break in the tank. Just the opposite seems to be the problem, and the paintballs won't break on impact unless you're very close and shooting at a hard surface.

They were .22 rounds, Jack, according to the comments section; but the exact arrangement is not given..and yes, I guess that is CO2 causing the puff of smoke. Nonetheless, it's quite cool. As I mentioned earlier, there are numerous instances on Youtube of tanks firing paintballs without problems. The 'Creepingdeathrc' video on Youtube demonstrates the gun firing a long stream of paintballs with apparent ease.

Now that you mention it, this would be a great radio for a tank like the Grant/Lee. You could have stuff like upper turret rotation and gun movement on pots and still have options left over (it has three pots and two slide switches).
I've still got four channels left so I'm thinking a TC with a head that turns, maybe one with a turnigy receiver controlled on/off switch (just happen to have one) for a notek light, and maybe a convoy light, and i'll have channels left over. What I need to do now is learn how to assign switches. Like, this switch will apply 100% positive to channel 3 for MG fire. Can ya dig it? I want to get lights, smoker, etc, on their own switches. I'll get there eventually, and the radio is very easy to learn on since it has a built in "Help" section that tells you just about all you need to know. I got mine gently used and it was the best seven dollars I've spent so far.

I see that this i10 is basically a rebranded Turnigy FS-i10, then? No matter, in either guise it really gets excellent reviews...and, it's not too pricey either. With the Grant/lee you have many more bits to move, and that's why i thought the i10 would be a perfect partner. Since this thread is about smokin' barrels, though,(derailment ist streng verboten..vergiss nicht!Max-U52 wrote:Now that you mention it, this would be a great radio for a tank like the Grant/Lee. I think it's the other way round, Roy, the Turnigy is the rebrand and the FlySky the original. But I could be wrong about that.
To get back on topic, I've seen a video (which of course i can't find again) and the guy was using cigarette loads. Remember those? Again, a one shot deal, but a nice flash and puff of smoke in one, and some loads even give a little crack that might blend nicely with the cannon sound. Has anyone else seen that one? This is something I'd really like to try but there seems to be a real stigma attached to this topic over on this side of the Atlantic. Any time you start talking about real gunpowder people get touchy.

If you think people get touchy over there, you should see what happens on this side of the pond. Black powder in any quantity requires a licence, and I think the old caps that I fondly remember are now on the banned list, though I could be wrong. That just setvme thinking. I don't suppose you could use party Popper's for a single shot?
