PZ4 cammo

Post by mickyb »

Hi lads,

just about to begin my PZ4, where can I get an idea of cammoflague options for it?

Can someone advise me on how to remove the rear idlers as I want to replace them with metal ones.

The Tiger site is excelent for patterns.....is there one for the PZ4 in Europe?

I will leave the PZ3 in desert sand but would like to do the PZ4 similar to the Tiger.

I was surprized that my 3000mah battery only lasted 15 mins on the elmod Tiger, so today I picked up a 5100mah

battery to try out. I have left the battery box on the Tiger and this battery is exactly the same length as the box, but I have had to

cut a little slot in the end to allow the cable to curve gently from the battlery round to the connector.

I will post fotos of the finished Tiger this week.

Mike

Assuming that you want to do another Normandy vehicle, I'd suggest looking up examples from the 12th SS Pz Div, there are a lot of photo's available on line that were taken of that unit in the run up to the invasion.
I'm working on a model of '626' to go with my Tiger at the moment. I bought a replacement mantlet and gun barrel kit + the single piece hatch from Modellino (total cost probably around 40 euro's - Peter's contact info is in recommended vendors) to make mine into a Ausf H model. Plans for Schurzen plates and brackets can be found in my members space if you need some. Other units in the area with the 101st were the 22nd Panzer Div and Panzer Lehr Div.

This ones rather a small image, but hopefully it gives you some ideas for colour schemes: http://depothobbies.com/Echelon%20decal ... ing[1].jpg

Use a Phillips screwdriver, the screw is accessed thru the hole in the idler. You'll probably have to demolish the plastic idlers to retrieve the screws, but you were going to throw them away anyway right? ;)

Hi Tony, sounds realy helpful. any fotos would be greatfully appreciated.

This will probably be good therapy attacking a different project, the Tiger seems to have gone wrong just about every step of the way....as my Dad would say...character building...

What a great day. today was so sunny and warm my tortoise woke from hibernation. lets hope that it is a sign of things to come, lord knows how we could all dp with a lift

have a good week lads
