Hotte, your work is, as usual, of the highest calibre and far beyond my own miserable efforts.
But still a small feature of your restoration I have found a little unusual and, if you will forgive me, it is this - the jacking block.
All the pictures and representations I have thus far observed show the straps that bind or reinforce the block to be at the far edges (vertical, as we look at it in place on the rear armour) and not somewhat inboard as you have depicted in your block. So I am just wondering, is there some reason for this or are there versions of the jacking block on a KT that had the straps so placed?

If I have indeed missed, as I surely must, the glaringly obvious then please feel free to castigate, as you see fit, this unworthy dog that I am .

nice to hear from you.
Of course can you get the drawings but you want to use them at your Jagdtiger. An Jagdtiger has a bit different chassis (it is longer); so I think that you will have to adjust the drawings. In which format you want to have the drawings files; as pdf or better as dxf-file?

At the last time I've told, that the drilling isn't more round. So carefully drilled and a corresponding brass tube was glued in.

…and with plugged in shaft.



I had the same problem at the pistol port in the rear hatch. Same problem - same repair, but first were all parts dismantled.



The retaining bolt who is simultaneously pivot point for the locking sheet had to be new fastened. Remedy came again from a piece brass.



The rear hatch at suitable location drilled…



…and the brass part (with drilling and internal thread) glued. Now it looked like this; outside…



…and inside.



Except for the pistol port plug was all parts new manufactured…



…and of course also mounted.



The Henschel kingtigers received armor guards for the torsion bars at the rear hatch only since September 1944. Because my kingtiger in August is already in combat in Poland; he couldn’t have this armor guard. So then; armor guard dismantled and new holders manufactured. Sometimes can a metal turret be an advantage. Pictures…



The old mounting holes under the shaft were later closed, when the turret receives his new zimmerit coat, I will also a bit “welding” again. In conclusion again a few views…

At the turret it goes this time on. The turret fan had had a cover. This cover was equipped with hook bolts. These were mounted during the assembly of the cover at little metal sheets, which were welded against the fan foot. At Torro's Kingtiger these metal sheets aren't present. Single sheets glued against the fan foot seemed for me to unstable, so I decided me to customize a complete circle. Starting material was again a remnant of a 0,8er copper sheet.

At the foot were missing weld lines attached…



…and the close defense weapon was a bit detailed; although I'm not really satisfied with the result.



My moveable hatch over the cartridge ejection port has during many battle missions received a problem at the hinge…



…the soft casting material was broken at the hinge.



A repair seemed not appropriate for me; a new cover was my plan. At the original is the cover at the lower side plain and is located in a depression. I have changed this and my cover receives an indention. But first time the hinge part…



…and the cover…



…soldered together.



Thereafter both counterparts for the hinge cut, folded and with a temporary hinge bolt fitted…



…here from inside; good to see the indention at the cover.



And here the hatch in closed condition; good to see the hinge and also the hatches stopper.

Meanwhile has my turret his zimmerit coat received back; this time a bit more filigree and with some flaking’s.

At the wooden for the jack block was the zimmerit coat also repaired…



…and at the fastener was the hexagon nut changed against a wing nut.



Further at the turret. At Torro’s original is the metal block present, but no target sting located; my old version was not moveable and bent repeatedly.



That’s why I decided me to build a functional target sting. At the original is the target sting a simple metal block with a notch, were the target sting is in. Hold is the sting by a clamping plate; with both screws can you the target sting resolve and lock.







The little notch for the target sting is good to see…



…the holders for the poison gas identification panels exist, but not good detailed. The bolt heads looks like rivet heads and hollow aren‘t the sheets also. Altogether has a Kingtiger like a Panther three holders; at the Kingtiger were two welded at the rear turret roof, the third holder were welded at the top of gun mantlet.

As my own first KT build works ever nearer to completion already you give me further ideas for future upgrades and refinement.
