OK, this one's pretty much ready. Weathering and detail yet to be done (stowage, too) but for the most part she's ready for the battlefield.

I'll try to get some stills this weekend. I really, really like the way the headlight came out. That Krystal Klear is very good stuff.

Gary that is a brilliant (sorry) tip for the headlight, as ever onward and upward.
Not for me to complain but I am very glad I don't live in the Detroit area you seem to have all the stock of all the hobby stores in the State. :haha: :haha:
You do top work and with such a generous heart I am very pleased you chose to join the Forum.

Hi your comment
Has RC Tanking ruined war movies for anyone else? I was just watching Kelly's Heroes (about a month ago it was Saving Pvt Ryan), and the "Tiger Tanks". Boo Hoo! :'(
Well if you think about it they remind me of early heng long tanks , but having said that Fury did make a good attempt (but they got Fury totally wrong it should have been a M4A5 Grizzly ) but at least they had a Tiger.

OK, so the Stug slipped back into the shop for a minor repair.

I still want to do the tow cables and the exhaust, and then she'll be about ready for a "Show Off" thread of her very own.

Should the Sherman get a new TC?

I'd cut him down carefully making a flat bottom and keep the cut off part and add legs to it with a sprue pin sticking up that would fit into the a hole drilled in the flat bottom. That way he could be posed as complete figure standing outside the tank, on the rear deck, the ground, the turret top or as a in hatch tank commander if the legs are removed. I've done one that way and it gives some extra flexibility to posing the figure on or around the tank.

Well, I cut him down, but not quite enough. I think I'll take another 1/16 to 1/8 inch off him, and I also want to rebuild the mount for the .50 cal. Not happy with that one, it seems too thin and of course it ain't plumb!

Good idea about the legs, Giant, and I might try that in the future, but this guy's gonna stay in the hatch.

See if Jason's store on EBay has the sprue section with the 50 cal on it. Its a much better representation of the 50 cal then the Danbury Mint jeep one which is rather bulky plus the ammo can and working can holder are on the same piece. Think he lists it as Tamiya M26 tank part when he has it in stock.
