Re: Bristol Armoured Division
Pretty much finished the paint, just need to make an air intake for the engine deck (the Feifel air filters were sand filters so a stripped down Tiger 1 destined for the European theatre wouldn't have them), and I have modified the barrel rod cleaners, basically removed the tow ropes - need to paint and attach those.
If anyone has a machine gun can they bring it along to the next meet. The previous owner has glued the ball socket, and snapped the original off, he then glued it back together badly. I have removed it and drilled out the hole but we need another one to go in there.
I'll cut out the battery box and put a flat inner deck in, and drop a Tiger 1 SLU in there for test purposes, at least it will sound ok until we decide what to put in there.

Re: Bristol Armoured Division
Right then, this is as far as I am going cosmetically with this tank from hell. I'll bring it along to the next BAD meet.
I have added an air intake and a radio ariel base, and tried to do something with the barrel cleaning rods, made them as tidy as I can.
It started out as the silver thing in this pic:
and now looks like this

There are many depths of Hell!!
You now have a contract with Satan, he wont let you off that lightly!
New gearboxes, hidden battle system, recoil barrel, light covers..... I wonder what other punishments can be thought of for your sins!?!

Re: Bristol Armoured Division
@Spartan, hoping things improve for you sometime soon, my thoughts are with with you. It's going to be a long haul but you don't need me to tell you that.
For anyone who wants to build some scenery for pennies, I had a wander around You Tube to see what was out there, and found this video.
I thought I would give it a go using the polystyrene from an HL box. I could not believe how easy it was. The trick is to waft a blowtorch over from a distance and keep it moving. When scoring stonework don't make the grooves very deep as they are a swine to paint otherwise. I just daubed household acrylic paint over it and then airbrushed the smoke damage. The blowtorch actually hardens the exterior so there is less chance of bits flaking off.
Now Andy kindly printed some roofing sheets for my farm building, only snag is that due to the strange atmospheric conditions out in the sticks the grey tiles changed colour, but not until after I had glued them onto the roof! The whole pack of sheets is now bright blue! Not to be thwarted I eventually found some brickwork that I could 3D print, so after some jiggery pokery I have been able to print very thin sheets, and I will coat the roof with those.

Re: Bristol Armoured Division
I second Rob's thoughts. Things don't appear to be going too well for you, Spartan, but I guess the only way is up from here.
Great looking buildings there. Must have been some reaction with the adhesive. I had something similar with some railway models, though not quite as drastic. I stopped using PVA and either used cheap Pritstik copies or UHU.

Re: Bristol Armoured Division
I'll never throw away polystyrene packing again, this technique is impressive, especially if it's a big block of the stuff. Just tear chunks off, run a blowtorch over the surface and presto, sealed rock/stone surfaces ready for painting.
It's as light as a feather, so no heavy fragile buildings to cart about either?
