problem Tiger

Post by mickyb »

Tonight the ElMod Tiger got some power and there is only one word to describe it...Awesome

For 15 minutes..............

It suddenly spun on the spot.....sounds went to half volume

I powered it down...checked all wires and card temperatures...powered it up

Now I get half volume sounds...and no motors......

I await a reply from Thomas......... cobblers.....I cant type a scream

Hi ...I have a new 3000mah battery that has been on charge since saturday.

The tranny is a 9volt/140mah job

If my maths is correct, 3000 divided by 140 = 22 ish....22 hours.

Its a brand new battery from Tankzone so it isn't rubbish....I hope... and I would have thought it should have been fully charged after 4 days.

Unless the tranny is crap!  I will put it on another one overnight and through till tomorrow evening then try again.

I thought that all was terrific. I was going to connect up the CD turret and go hunting the cat that scratched my car tonite....bugger

Micky - It's your battery. Put a multimeter on it. Even a fully charged 3000mah battery will only last about 20 mins, and a classic sign of a drained one is spinning on the spot as far as Elmod is concerned.

A trickle charged battery will take hours'n'hours to charge, time to invest in a decent one. I use a Prolux Go Peak peak predict charger. It only takes about 20 mins to fully charge a battery, and it does it without damaging it. A trickle charger can still over charge and damage a battery...especially after 4 B*^%*Y days!

Oh, and never use a battery while it is still warm!!

Tx batteries last for months as there are no high amps being pulled.

Have fun

Hells ruddy bells...I thought I would get over 1/2 hour from it.

I had better try and get another one as well. Thanks for the heads up....I will certainly look for a better charger.

I have a heli as well, it uses LiPo batteries that only last for 10 minutes in flight.....so I will look for a multi battery type charger that will do both types plus ballances and conditiones,,,,,,does the one you suggest do this?

Cheers...I feel a bit better now.....only a bit cos no moggy hunt Mike.....

hi mike
i hope youre glitch is minor and as rob suggested battery related, as for battery chargers, i have a "imax b6" Li'pro balance charger, it does lipo/nicad/nimh, and just about any battery you want to hook up to it, i got it from ebay for £80 inc postage from hong kong, its a great charger, ideal for youre needs, and you can hook it up to a car battery when youre out, so its versatile aswell
