TORRO T34/85 ?

Post by jeman »

Hi Guys ! Just been looking on ebay and I must say I like this Tank. It has all the metal extras including Turret, wheels, Tracks a stuff, and its green with white painted lines on it.......looks pretty good but has anyone here got one and what do the run like. comes with the wooden looking crate to store it in its £329
I was looking at buying second hand but I must say I'm tempted with a new one of these
Any help and advice would be appreciated :D

Cheers
Mark

I bought one from rctank. It was described as 'Taigen/Torro' metal edition, but there's no difference whatever between Taigen and Torro. The wooden case is neat (I got one with my KT metal ed. from rctank), but an expensive option really, In my opinion, and so from previous experience, I went for the metal edn.(Airsoft)., without the tank sarcophagus. It runs well, the detailing is well above anything I could achieve..especially the pitting from casting on the Turret and elsewhere, and it also fits together beautifully. Incidentally, you can buy the wooden 'ammo' storage style tank boxes from: http://www.heng-long-panzer.de if you choose the unboxed model. I've bought from both outlets several times, and their service ticked all the right boxes. So much so, that I really have to resist buying another tank there for a while; just too many tempting offers winking away there! :D

Hi Mark,

I echo what 43rd has said, I bought mine a little while ago and as 43rd mentioned the t34 has very good detail to it straight out of the box, I have seen a nice example of one of these very tanks on Google images and with a little extra detailing and weathering it looks even better, the wooden box is a nice addition if you have the space to store it and the extra cash to buy it, I bought my version without the box although I have a Torro tiger 1 with the box, they are nice and sturdy if you plan on travelling a lot with the tank, HTH in making your decision,

Cheers, Lee.

Damn, Damn, Damn!! Just yesterday I picked up a brand new Imex/Taigen full metal T-34 (basically the same tank) and I'm going to sell it for a very good price, WITH a complete second hull top with metal IR turret so it's a TRULY plug and play swap to go from airsoft to IR, and an extra battery, but those STUPID international shipping rates will mean it won't be a good deal for you, Jeman. I'm going to sell it with the extra upper hull and turret for US $400 (282 pounds) plus shipping.

I love this forum and all my new British friends, but I hate that pool of water between us and what it does to the cost of helping guys out on the other side.

and in case you don't know- but probably do- the name on the turret 'CYBOPOB' translates as 'SUVOROV'. Suvorov was an 18/29th century Russian general, fabled for never losing a battle. I mentioned this on another thread, but was keen-personally- to find out what was written there just in case someone felt like having a little joke by writing 'Dickhead', or something equally uncomplimentary, in Russian :haha: ...I must be getting paranoid in my old age.. :shifty:

One more thing, Mark, just in case you didn't know this, there is a difference in the turrets that come on the two different types (airsoft and IR). The airsoft turret has a functional hatch next to the commander's cupola, but on the IR version that hatch is just simulated and the apple plugs in right there so with the apple out the plug is clearly visible. That was the one thing I really didn't like. Some guys have gotten the airsoft turret for the hatch and then converted it to IR for battles. Are you looking for an IR or airsoft tank? I think there's about a $30 difference in price (maybe 20 quid? Did I say that right?)
