Now this is a build that really captures the eye....I almost won a resin 1/35th scale conversion of this model..almost :lolno: ... :haha: ...it's a very interesting unit :D
I like what you've done...the result is pretty Awesome
I'm with Rob on the paint job...think it depended on the unit it was assigned to...the one I didn't win had a photo on the box..and as I recall it was painted up in desert color...so I would say it would be up to you Hawk...or a flip of a coin ;)

Hi, found this - it's in Bovington and looks to be olive drab. Alwyn

Glad you decided to take the plunge, as it's very refreshing to see such an unusual variation..and therefore a really novel take... on a familiar subject. With cutting, patching and filling skills like that..you could certainly
open up a bespoke carbody repair shop, and have lots of satisfied customers  Mind you; there's always the Tank customisation option..

Thanks for the comments guy's.
I'll try her in a solid colour to start with and if I'm not happy, I might try a simple camo scheme.
I'll post photo's as I progress to the finishing line.

Hi all.
Well I got a bit more done. Finally got the aerial to hold together and fitted, so I put on a first coat of Olive Drab, I weathered a set of tools up and dressed up a set of figures and made a couple of stores boxes and then could not resist taking her to our first anniversary meet.
A big thank you to Michael C who has sent me a copy of the history of the Kangaroo, on reading through I did not Know just how important a roll they played in the war and also how many major advances they took part in.
Any way here's some photo's of how she is at the minute.

I'm not sure what to mark her up as Canadian or British ? I have a few choices :haha: .
I know the men are sitting up a bit high in the turret, but do to the battery placement and not being qualified as a surgeon :haha: ( I did not want to attempt chopping the men's legs off at the knee's just to look right.)
I still have the headlights and guards to do plus some fine detail work on the front tranny cover and then attempt to weather her before putting the final photo's up on here.

Someone should start a website entitled '1001 uses for a Sherman', lol. Excellent work as usual, I don't think anyone has done one before.

Hi All
I have about finished her off for now ( you know you carn't stop tinkering). anyway for a once I'm pleased how she turned out and so decided for now that's it !, lets just have a bit of fun.
Here's a few piccy's to show her off.

I will have a break and then try something different. Maybe a bit more modern I fancy having a go at the Land Rover Centaur, We played with Prototype No 5 by fitting a 20mm on the back deck, had a lot of fun chasing around quarryies and off roading with it. She was good for 50mph plus on the road and went just about anywhere. Only snag with it was we bent a few front steering bars on rocks :haha: (why did Land Rover put the steering bar in front of the axle ? )

Because on the Series models the steering arms are protected by the leaf springs......
