Re: Very old Tamiya Sherman Tank Upgrade
Hi Alpha,
Well last night we had a goof look with a friend who is abit of a whiz, we have now decided that we will have to fit a electronice speed controller because the tracks on the old one are starting to lift and could get damaged more. so after a bit of messing about we had the tracks going on the bench and fitted the servo to to the clutch, both clutches work fine and it had a nice turn of speed. So this week we will be kitting it out by the weekend it could be running outside so will try and get some vid for you. Please keep your fingers crossed all goes well.

Re: Very old Tamiya Sherman Tank Upgrade
Hi Alpha, and All
For the first time in about 30 years the old Tamiya Sherman moved round the lounge, must to the disgust or our dog who barked at it. Its a bit of a shame but had to put some modern bits new RC and speed controller but the rest is still old. A very good friend sorted out how to use a modern speed controller with original motors and gearbox. So if its fine weather this weekend I will make a small video, thank you all for your help and encouragement.

Re: Very old Tamiya Sherman Tank Upgrade
Well I am a bit, I looked for mechanical speed controllers but most were for cars and like 3 speed which would'nt go down well, then somebody at work said they would have a look with me he's a bit of a wiz after 2 evenings he had sorted what we need fitted it in. But yes it was frustrating at times, this is my first ever RC tank so meant a lot. But you will see it I promise.

Videos are kind of tricky...if they already exist it's easy...but if you want to post videos like how Max and Frankie do..you have to open a youtube account put the file there..then you can bring it here...You might want to PM either and get more specifics
...I'd say contact Max
