Strike-me-blind these screens are a muck around :/ :/
Each one custom made(like the real ones would have been ) each one arranged to be clear of the periscopes(like the real ones would have been) and soon each one hanging up on everything within a hundred miles(like the real ones would have !!)
But happy with the look of the turret screens.
Tomorrow the hull set.
I drew a bit of a map so they would go on as per plan...................ok if your 20 month old doesn't shift them around just for a bit of a giggle :problem:

Well the "screen-pixie" came to my house...............
Finished at 0130 hrs

Pre-painted using the red oxide as a base, with a dry brush mix of Tamiya dark brown, rust pigment and burnt sienna over the top.
I will do a light dry brush of orange rust in places as well.
The feet positions were carefully scraped clear of paint down to the raw plastic and gel super glue used to secure.
Once they are blended into the turret, I reckon they will look pretty close to right.

Hull sections and rear deck next on the Pixies to-do list...........

Thanks you fulla's

Got the hull section screens done, but sadly ran out of solder paste before I could get the mountings on :(
With luck, the solder paste shop will be open tomorrow.
Over here, Super Rugby has begun again, so has the V8 Supercar series, the WSBK, and next weekend the MotoGP :O
Tanking time is going to be limited...............

Solder paste shop - open
Brass stock - low, but just enough
Paint mix- check
Time- hurried but sufficient.

Got the hull screen made up & mounted.
Dry brushed the orange rust lightly over the turret screens while the primer dried off on the hull set.
JUUUUUUUssssst enough clearance under the turret bustle in both rotations over the hull screens :shh:
More ass than management really, but I will take it.
This thing is growing on me 8)

Yeah I kind of thought that !
A bit like almost all the others I have, loaded with appendages and hooks to catch on everything around.
Not sure about doing the rear deck screen, it will make opening the vent hatch difficult.

Sat him on his tracks late last night, will weather them in with the wheels together.
Plus I can test drive again to ensure no surprises.

The weight and spring settings on this seem to be about right. Any more weight and it would squat.
Last 2 wheels clocked springs, first wheel same, middle 2 left standard setting.

Quick whip around the "streets of Berlin, and bang................no, not an A/T gun, but a track failure !
Blew the eyes out of one of the links.
I have a feeling this might be a bit regular until I can get better tracks.

Kiaser wrote:HB , You should have taken some historic footage and the comments when you found the problem :D .

Just a couple of quick Questions HB ? , The bed Spring on the top of the turret should it be on a slight angle falling towards that barrel instead of being flat  .The front brackets of the bed Spring reduced.

Finally It is difficult to see but the hatch does it have room to open without fouling .
Oh trust me, the comments were"historic" alright !!

One would say yes, but as these were banged together from kits sent to the field, or from what-have-you lying around, the pictures seem to show the top screen as flat to the roof. My one does fall slightly. The front casting slopes down from the roof, so it does fall a wee bit.

Yes, both hatches clear. Set the screen with hatches open.

Its the rear engine deck screen I cant find any evidence of, so for now its left off.

Kiaser wrote:Bloody marvellous   looks fantastic and a original HB special , :wtf: you broke it :haha: :haha: on the test run :/ .

 there is some thing missing ? That's right show us the burn board from the soldering :haha: :haha: .

A lot of screens 8O now take a mug shot of your 8 finger tips and 2 thumbs , I can not believe you did not burn your fingers or thumbs .
Nope, no burns. The solder paste is so easy to work with. I will admit to probably inhaling far to much of the flux as it burnt, but such is life.
The burn board is pretty well burnt. I used MDF , once a patch was blackened, it was quite resistant to more burning.
Spiked my finger sorting the track pin out though
