Tank Shuts down partially in repetitive cycles

So you know when you turn the tank on and the lights flash that lets you know the powers on?

Well in this case, things are a bit weird, I previously had all metal leo 2 tracks, while playing around the back yard the tank tank would shut off to this state, particularly when doing neutral steer on rough-ish dirt. Recently I got my Mato Rubber metal tracks, I neutral steer it on the carpet and not even half way through one turn it shuts off to that state. Repeatedly turning it on, and doing that over and over again caused it to straight up turn off, other wise it would partially shut off and i would have to start the engine again.

I did my own tests, no issues with the motor, while holding the tank up so the tracks could oscilate freely I made it go through the motions and it didn't shut down. However the moment I put it on a surface where the motor had to push the weight of the tank, it shuts down partially.

Wouldn't do it (as often) with all metal, does with metal/rubber pads. Going forward and in reverse is perfectly fine though for both.

I've been reading around that when one motor is sucking too much power to move the weight of the tank it ends up shutting the board down because of a power overload.

I'm running my Leo with the Rx18, black steel gear box, a 7.2v 5000mah battery and the tracks mentioned above with metal sprockets and idler.

Any ideas? I'm trying to pinpoint the issue but need some intelligent advice :3

Your battery is crap, the tracks you have produce alot more resistance and causing the motors to draw more current than the battery can handle,making the voltage drop and the rx18 think it is flat, are you using a decent branded battery?

Looks like you've taken a fairly analytical approach to the problem...and, discounting a loose wire; a JST plug lot fully seated etc., (sporadic issues could result..through movement) I think the weight factor is probably key. It might be a track tension factor as well. Too tight, and on a very grippy surface you might find that the added strain just tips the load beyond the mainboard's (MFU's) capacity. It this a 2.4Ghz rx-18 system, or the 27khz crystal one? Sometimes with the crystal type, the crystal itself can be a poor fit, and bumps or jogs can cause a break in the signal flow. I had that problem with the poorly fitted crystal pins on my first HL tank.

Either a crap battery or the motors are pulling too many amps trying to spin the tank so the board goes into its protection mode so it doesn't burn up.

Swap to an IBU2 board and upgrade to a lipo battery and you'll never have this problem again.

I got the 2.4ghz version, got an IBU 2 on the way to replace it soon

Never heard of them to be fair dude, do you have another Battery you can try?

I really only got the stock battery 1800mah aside from the other one
