BTW, is the Vampire IR unit compatible with the IBU3?

Yes the IR connections are the same as the IBU2 so the Vampire will plug in.

More testing tonight.

This time external ESC and brushless motor @)

Here's a quick video

For comparison left side is still using the DKLM 550 brushed motor, right is the brushless. This is on 3S LiPo and brushless ESC using default settings (need adjusting still), also tried 2S LiPo and the speed difference between the two motors is even bigger.

Right tonight I tested another feature, IBU3 firmware update.

Very easy to do, about 30 seconds process if that. But like IBU2 it also erases your settings and need to recalibrate the radio to the IBU3 but again not a massive task.

And the few items I found with the firmware have been addressed and like wise a updated PC software package done to iron out a few issues there, so well done TheIBUMan

Ian,

Is there any update on release date for the IBU3 and the associated smoker you previously mentioned?

Hi Mark,

No date yet. But testing has gone very well.

I did get a shipment of smokers yesterday but no prototype ibu3 version included, hopefully on my next shipment.

Hi Terry,

Just got a firmware update regarding a IR glitch during the IR battles which I will be testing tomorrow when I tank to the tank club for some fun.

Then hopefully just after Easter holiday it could be ready for sale  but will post more when I have more info.
