Here's one you might consider Max

You can still get these for a pretty reasonable amount on EBAY...I got a used /partially built one for under 50 with ship
The seller even threw in a second body....I like it because it is much easier to hide any RC internals under the shell
You might appreciated it as most of your Armor is German ;)

I started to build a village a while back and built this for the town centre. Gave up when all my figures disappeared overnight.....

That's really cool, Rocketman, and it's a damn shame about the theft. Can you tell me more about that piece? It's very cool, where did you find it? If you made it from scratch that's VERY impressive. I love the bullet scars. I've been thinking about some kind of fountain in the center of the village.

Rad, I'll definitely do a build log for the jeep, but I'm not getting the second jeep I was trying for. Got outbid, and I'll only go so high. The first one is on the way, though, so we'll see what happens. If you get a chance maybe you can dig around and see if you can find anyone else that's posted info on how they did it, if they used a donor car and what kind, that sort of thing. I'll be doing the same, but two looking is always better than one. I think we'll have to ask Ausf about this. I have a feeling he might have done one already. Maybe with a 1/24 crawler like a traxxas or that other one that starts with an "L" that I can never remember the damned name of!

General, I'm trying not to go with anything after 1946 (just in case I want to pretend the Germans held on thru '45 and beat the US to the bomb), but I'm wondering if the VW could be backdated. I don't even know what year the first Bug came out, but it's worth looking into. The biggest problem is finding time to build it. I still haven't finished the '31 Ford, so it sometimes just sits in the farmyard as if it's getting an overhaul. If I buy a couple and ship them to the islands will you build them and send them back? I'll send the '31, too. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Anyway, I got the indy jones German motorcycle and I really like it. Not at all bad for a toy, and it will look good in the background this summer. I have a few other things coming so when they all arrive I'll post video but after that I've pretty much blown the tank budget for both the first and second quarters!

Haven't been into the Book of Buggery for awhile...all I know is the Beetle did exist in many forms during the 1940s
Here's a little tidbit provided by the internet ...mostly a brief summary...but you can grasp the period they actually ran in
http://www.edmunds.com/volkswagen/new-beetle/history/ The Revell model can be easily backdated as the body hardly changed over the years
there was also a 4x4 version as well as a steam powered version...some where converted to field ambulances as well as radio interception vehicles :D
Now...more on the Bug...I'm sure you remember this movie...Scenes from "Castle Keep"

which just so happened to have a segment on the Jeep

an additional bonus is...........Weren't you planning to build a Castle? :D

I remember another segment of that movie ...where the other members of that rag tag platoon tried to sink the bug in the castle's moat...and found they couldn't...the funniest part about that segment was the mechanic who fell in love with the car....swam to it and drove it out :haha: :haha:

I think it would be a perfect addition to your town ;)

PS...The one and only thing you could send to me to work on is that Taigen JagdTiger ...Pre Warning...it may take awhile before it's returned :haha: :haha:

Good clips, General. I haven't seen castle keep, but I'm already wondering if i can duplicate the circle. I'll need some statues. :)

There's a good crawler coming up tomorrow, and I bet it can be had for under $25. This is the real thing

Image

but this one is one I'd like to see or build in 1/16.

I'll be keeping an eye on the model crawler. Right now it's at $16 so I just might, but I've spent way too much on accessories for the year. It's time to turn to buildings.

Oh yeah, the Jagdtiger is a Torro, but you can drive it any time you want to stop by. ;)

That must really bite that sellers won't ship there. Have you talked to Eric at Imex? I think they can ship just about anywhere with a zip code for about 25 bucks. That's where I got my JT and I think it was $23.99 for shipping. Maybe USPS flat rate box? I sent gearboxes to Guam for 6 bucks, because it has a zip code. Now I'm tempted to experiment. You missed out on the free fuel drum giveaway didn't you? Have you seen those lethal weapons I turn out of solid steel and call 55 gallon fuel drums?

Image

The Tamiya green didn't work but that was the first photo handy. Now I shoot them with model master OD green and they look OK. Almost a pound each! I can get 10 in a small flat rate box and send them anywhere with a zip code for under 7 bucks. Of course, I was only giving away two at a time. :)

And yes, the two bare ones are brass, but those are special edition. The painted ones are steel, probably 8620 or 4140.

Anyway, the last two items for this round of foolishness are this Case Model L i got for 20 bucks plus 10 more s/h,

Image

and this bruder for $19 that I may try to put a canvass tarp cover over the back of. Or make it into something else entirely. Mainly just got it because I've never actually held a Bruder truck and I want to see if they have possibilities.

Image

Most of it will be here by the weekend, so I'll do video then. The Jeep will be here Thursday, can't wait!
