Paint stripping
Re: Paint stripping
I've successfully used brake fluid to remove enamel paint from polystyrene without damaging the plastic. I don't know if that would work for acrylics though.

hi jack
like chris i use brake fluid on plastic to get paint off, it work on acrylic aswell as enamel, it takes a while, you need to soak it for an hour or 2, but its worth the wait

Re: Paint stripping
Water based acrylics? I just soak mine in water and use a scrubbing brush, it comes straight off as acrylics are water based. This worked on paint that was about 5 layers thick, including some that was enamel. Of course, if you use acrylic primer, then the enamel will go on top of it, it is stuck to the acrylic, not the plastic, so when you soak the paint the acrylic comes off and brings the enamel off with it?
I also use a toothbrush to get fiddly bits clean. A quick swill out and it goes back in the glass ready for the next morning!
