Torro KT Zimmerit

Hi All,
Can someone help me with my new Torro KT project perhaps. My question is simple - what has Torro/Taigen done wrong here (see pic below)? I'm referring to the vertical pattern Zim that, I assume, is meant to reflect/imitate the rear armour plate slotting into the side armour plate.
I read in various places that this is a mistake and notice that many fill this in to match the surrounding zimmerit. What I can't find is an explanation as to what is wrong (and there appears to be a similar impression on KT photos)?

This is a great forum I should add. I'm new here abouts but have gained much valuable advice since.

Zim application may turn vertical or angled to accommodate an obstruction or slope, like around a drive housing or suspension part, but I've never heard or it regarding weld seams, etc.

That Torro pattern is far too mechanical for my tastes, it was a concrete type of fiberous mix that as applied by workers with a trowel like tool. It shouldn't be perfect, but there's little reason for the alteration in direction in the area you have. I'd fill it.

So, either way (with or without the vertical pattern) is acceptable? That's fine for me as I prefer to match that area to the surrounding pattern.
Also, I agree the zimmerit patterning on the Torro/Taigen plastics is far too uniform. All the real examples I have looked at (a lot now!) show most applications to be fairly rough and haphazard. I am trying to remedy this by breaking up the lines with flaking, battle damage, and thinning out the depth of application but, apart from completely reapplying, I find it difficult to replicate the randomness of the real thing (but the fun is in trying I guess ).

Here too is a picture of the same area of zimmerit on the Bovington King Tiger I took on a visit a little while back. Not very neat compared to my Torro plastic version (I'll have to beat it up some more!).

I too had that visual issue and opted to fill in the zim instead ..pretty easy to do. I used wall compound..though plaster of paris would work too and is harder.
