Thank you Alpha.
...perhaps is it therefore so important.
...in any case is the Torro Kingtiger also a good platform to build your own...

Before I’ll start with my busywork; here again a photo from an original Kingtiger. To see is here not only zimmerit, rather also the field modification at the front fenders. For my busywork I’ve used again Apoxie Scuplt.

As first weld lines…

Followed from the next busywork…

At this point is good to see, why I’ve made first weld lines and thereafter the zimmerit. At many areas are the weld lines still good to see.

Flaked areas in the zimmerit coat were also incorporated.

Your work is excellent. I also have a Torro King Tiger that is my first (re)build project. I cannot possibly emulate the high standard you set here but this thread is a very great help to me (I am using the Aber photo etch kits but find it difficult still!).
Can you tell me:
How did you make the acyteline torch cutting marks on the exposed edge of front main chassis side plates (and at rear too I assume)?
Also, where did you get the steel cables, or are they modded original Torro ones?
Lastly, where did you get the wingnuts and studs (the Aber ones drive me bonkers!)?

Sorry for all the questions but you are my guiding light at the moment, your help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Dr. Phibes,

at first – thank you for your kind words. I’m very glad to be your guiding light.

Now to your questions:
The torch cutting marks I’ve made very simple; I scratched the sides with a little and sharp edged triangular file and with the backside from the blade of a hobby knife. Than a bit sanded with fine sand paper – that’s all.

My tow- and track cables are not self-made; I’ve bought them at that time from Professional Kits. This little shop doesn’t longer exist, but Christian Ludwig has now the parts in his shop. To find here: http://www.ludwigs-hobby-seite.de/Profe ... tiger.html

Yes - my wingnuts, I love them too. I’d bought them in the WeCoHe shop a few years ago. But unfortunately they closed their shop. And now I’m also looking for a dealer who has wingnuts from brass in M 0.8, M 1 and M 1.2 in his shop. All other little hex bolts and nuts are from MVD Modellbauschrauben: http://www.modellbauschrauben.de/shop_index.php

I hope this could help a little. And - If you have more questions don’t be shy and ask me.
